The ultra-exclusive Asian brand Capella is setting up shop on the banks of Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River this spring with the planned opening of a landmark new hotel. The property will have just 101 suites and villas with river views that channel the city’s unmistakable energy. They will also offer create a soothing ambiance, a so-called “cocoon of tranquility,” to insulate travelers from the Thai capital’s bustle. The hotel will field a riverfront gourmet restaurant overseen by Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco, as well as a specialty bar serving creative cocktails and desserts. Guests can relax in the Capella Library, or call upon dedicated personal assistants for needs both around the hotel and out and about in the city. There will also be a location of Capella’s award-winning Auriga Spa for some much-needed relaxation after a day out in the city’s streets and canals. Among the other new Bangkok hotels to look out for is the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River.
