Adissa’s entrepreneurial journey is marked by her decision to decline government assistance programs, choosing instead to forge her own path. She navigated an uplifting divorce while raising three young children as a single mother, ensuring that all her children attended college with little to no student loan debt. This showcases her commitment to their education and future success.
After graduating from college, Adissa faced significant employment discrimination, which only strengthened her resolve to succeed. Despite these challenges, she persevered and carved out her own path in the business and real estate sectors.
Adissa Barry’s professional accomplishments have been recognized on multiple platforms. She has been featured twice on Voice of America, highlighting her inspiring story and achievements. Recently, she was featured by NBC4 through M&T Bank for Black History Month 2024. Her dedication to community involvement has earned her prestigious awards from both the Governor of Maryland and the Burkina Faso Embassy.
As the Owner, Founder, President, and CEO of TEI Electrical Solutions, Adissa was recently recognized by ABC Baltimore and the Governor’s Office. She served as a panelist for ABC Baltimore’s “ABCs of MWBE Certification Panel Discussion and Network,” where she shared her 26 years of experience in the day-to-day financial management of design and construction firms, with a specialty focus in construction accounting. Her insights on obtaining and leveraging the Minority & Women Owned Business Certification were invaluable to attendees.
